All Wrapped Up

“Design is thinking made visual.” - Saul Bass

All Wrapped Up is a mystery book club designed and implemented for the Family Library on the Isle of Man.
The idea follows the concept of "Blind Date with a Book" but adapted to become suitable for children. Where books are "all wrapped up" removing any judgement based on the cover, instead replaced with short phrases/words written on the front to give a hint to the story within.
The branding focuses on a hand-drawn approach in line with its younger target audience, using playful and purposefully misaligned block colour to replicate the brown paper used to wrap up the books.
The two main logos are based on the front and spine of a wrapped book, whilst the two circle emblems can be used as stickers.
Luggage tags outlining the aim of the project - tied to the front of the wrapped books.
Bookmarks with instructions for the children to claim their reward - placed inside the wrapped up books.
Getting the children to fill out a book review to receive a reward encourages them to persevere with their mystery book and read outside their comfort zone.
A certificate for the children that complete and return a book review of their mystery book.
Posters to be used in print and digital to advertise the launch and Christmas adaption of the project.
A custom size banner I created to sit across the top of the bookshelf where the project would be on display.
Images of the books wrapped up and on display in the Family Library.
