Big Ted's Summer Adventure was the theme for this year's summer reading scheme at the Family Library. A bespoke 6 week challenge centered around the 6ft beloved teddy bear who lives in the library.
Some promotional stickers to help promote the challenge, for use at external events and within the library... who doesn't love a sticker!
I went for a red and yellow theme to emulate the colours of the Manx flag and emphasise the locality of the scheme, whilst Ted remained the main focus.
An A4 poster with a removable bookmark section to advertise the reading scheme.
I wanted to maintain the combination of photography and illustration across the branding, keeping Ted the main focus but adding in hand-drawn details such as his explorer hat and outfits in the following badges.
Outside of the reading card, with a section on the back to collect the six different stickers.
The stickers feature a collection of Manx wildlife and furry friends of Ted waiting to be picked up for the Teddy Bear's picnic; a hedgehog, Manx cat, seal, Loaghtan sheep, wren and a wallaby.
Inside the reading card, with sections to fill in the 6 different book reviews required for the challenge.
The pack contained 3 printed sheets detailing the rules of the reading challenge, instructions for the diorama competition and instructions for the parent's challenge alongside other goodies.
There were 6 different badges to collect throughout the challenge, with Big Ted dressed as different characters. An astronaut, artist, doctor, detective, chef and wizard.
A poster design to advertise the Teddy Bear Picnic celebration event at the end of the challenge.
I also designed VIP tickets for the event with a tear-off stub to make it that extra bit special.
Each child that completed the challenge was presented with a certificate...
... a finisher badge and a personalised magnet.
